Sometimes you may think that "being green" means extra work or expense. But being green with your appliances will save you money.

Here are a few points to consider to help save you money:

• Repair rather than replace
• Try using a 30 degree cycle
• Use Time Delay switches or plug in timers (please note that you cannot use a plug in timer for the majority of new machines). We would therefore recommend that you consider whether to purchase a machine that has a Time Delay switch built-in
• Use a full load
• Only use the recommended amount of powder and fabric conditioner
• Follow our tips on routine maintenance as looking after your appliance can prolong its life
• Check that you are purchasing an A rated appliance
